What type of claim can I go against for my old employer...seems their loss prevention department had a brain fart and called my current employer and invited them to watch video tape of me and released it to my new boss. of me in their store....that is a blatant violation of company policy. Now my job is in jepoardy over this incident.

Did they lie about what you were doing? Did they edit the video to make it appear that you are doing something that you did not? If they didn't, I don't see improper behavior here.

...that is a blatant violation of company policy.

Company policy is not the law. If you want to get the loss prevention people in trouble, you can contact their bosses and see what, if any, action will be taken.

Now my job is in jepoardy over this incident.

So your current employer knows you are a thief now and might be firing you. Sounds like good judgment on their part.

Unless your former employer gave you a signed contract promising not to release videotapes of your crimes to outside parties, I don't see where they have done anything illegal or violating your rights.

well idiot thats not issue.....even if it is true and its put out there to injure it still defamatory and and reckless...the law is clear on it...and FYI im not a thief.....the act just looks compormising per video......I got invasion of privacy libel defamation and intentional intent to cause emotional distress all wrapped in one.....the fact is its a praviacy issue the idiot LP that put it out there it no doubt get fired and I will get a nice fat check...read up on the law a lil before you reply with nonsense.

Libel? I thought all he did was show a tape? Isn't truth a faily good defense to libel nowadays? If you have such a strong case, then what does the lawyer say that you have signed up to sue him?
