I doubt there's anyone who much cares who you lived with or when, except your ex, of course, or your superiors if you happen to be an officer.

Now then, are you saying you remarried 3 days after your divorce was granted, or 3 days after the waiting period for remarriage (usually 6 months)? If you picked the former, you don't even have a "present" wife. The only person you can marry during that waiting period is your former spouse.

Hmmmmmmm! I sincerely hope not Grandma B - I'm off to Washington State next month - a friend of mine is getting married in King County - he was granted divorce last week! (after an 11 year seperation I should add).

In looking at the King County website:

http://www.metrokc.gov/lars/marriage/question.htm#divorced

it makes no reference to the 6 month thing, it does however state:

"8. Under what circumstances can a person apply for a marriage license before they are divorced?

Under no circumstances. A divorce must be final and filed before applicants can apply for a license. If a divorce is granted, and the paperwork filed on a Tuesday, for example, the couple must wait until Wednesday to file an application."

Right you are! So far I've also discovered that Texas has a 30-day waiting period, and I'm sure there are others. My apologies!

Just read the exchange between you and IAAL on a separate post and learned the scope of your travel to your friend's wedding in Washington. Godspeed and enjoy, "Miss Poppins"!

No apology necessary!

It's a wonder anyone can find their way around your differing State Laws. I'm just glad we were able to clarify the matter for Mr Garcia.

I enjoy my trips to your fair land - I'm always given a most hospitable welcome. Thank you for your good wishes.
