Hi I am from New York State

My parents got divorced 2 years ago. In the divorce settlement the house that was in both of my parents names was signed over to my mother and they went their seperate ways. Recently my mother has been working on refinancing her mortgage and the title search is turning up judgements in my fathers name. One is from taxes that were owed on his auto business from 1986($2500 +interest isnt he wonderful) which was there before they even purchased the home together and of course which he somehow managed to hide from my mom and/or didnt know about. This was placed on the house in 1992. Another is from a credit card in his name he used to finance his business or whatever miscellanous expenses he had that my mother never knew about. This judgement was placed on the house a few days before it was switched to my mothers name. A third is from the dmv..300 dollars worth of moving violations that he hasnt paid. Now the tickets are from this year which is after my fathers name has been legally removed from the house. My question is whether or not there is anything she can do about the judgements..or at least to prevent this from continuing.
