What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
My ex and I were married for 12 yrs (I think) We have been divorced for about 20 yrs.I am single. I recieve ssdi/ssi and will be 61 in September. Will I be able to claim anything from his benefits?I really need financial help. Unsure if he is collecting yet...I think he is due to age. He is in NY state.
Also, will this be done automatically by ss admin or must I apply? Friend of mine was automatically put on regular SS retirement after 20+ yrs on SSDI due to attain age of 65
Thankx!

I think your option to claim under his SS kicks in at your age 62 ....but check with SSA...they are pretty good at this kind of question once you get thru the phone wait
