Wisconsin, but divorce was in Texas.

I faxed the signature page of my divorce decree to the attorney in Texas the day of my divorce in 1996 as I was not present for the proceeding.

I never received a signed/sealed documemt.

I have been trying to go after ex who has now become a deadbeat. Wisconsin needed a copy of the signed/sealed document from Texas (which I had to pay for).

When the document arrived I put it side by side with the one I signed. It was not the same document. The page I faxed had the page number changed and was stapled to a completely different document.

The original that I signed determined child support in the amount of $1500 per month.

The official document that I never saw before claimed support to be in the amount of $500 along with some other changes.

How could something like this have happened?

Thank you in advance for a reply.

Go to where the decree was recorded and get a Certified Copy.

If the divorce papers were not signed,or signed and errors were ordered,it is possible the other Party to it, submitted a written request to the court to rectify it.

It happened to me.

The final order is the one that is suppose to be submitted for record .

Is it possible Divorce orders run concurrent w/ Family Court Orders ?

Make sure you read the Judgment and the part where it says something like.. It is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed.. That's the part that is the court order.

Thanks

Thank you for your replies. I am checking into it.

I was able to contact the Texas Justice System and they are going to review both documents that I am faxing them.

Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this and get it rectified. Just hope I don't have to get a new divorce!
