My last tennant wrote me two checks that were insuficient funds. He also broke the lease early and did some dammage to the house. He gave me 10 days notice that he was moving out. He has since moved to Texas (from Kentucky). I have both "bad" checks in my possesion totaling $1,800.00.
Is there any legal action that I can take in order to get some or all of the money back?

There is always legal action that you can take, but as a practical matter, it is probably not worthwhile.

Swallow the loss and choose better tenants next time.
