Nevada
I am named executor in my father's will. He died in Nevada but has property in both Nevada and California. Do I need to file the will in both states? does the property in CA count as part of the estate as far as amount goes for a set aside? even with the property in CA the total looks like it will be under $100,000.00, so I am thinking set aside w/out administrator? and finally where can I get forms, maybe generic, to file?

Condolences.

He died in Nevada. Did he live in Nevada? Maintain a residence in Nevada? Have assets in Nevada? If yes to all then you will have to do probate in Nevada and do what is called an "ancillary probate" in California where the property is located.

Forms and instructions for Nevada:

If he was outside of Clark County the local probate court may have similar self help online.

Forms and instructions for California:
