 What is the name of your state? California
A county appointed executor is handling a family members estate. They sold property of the estate to a county employee for an extreme discount. They snuck it through court. Then took money from the estate to fix it up after the sale. The executor made me give her $5,000 dollars in a form of a check in her name then she paid me back out of the estate. Keeping the money. The executor extremely inflated the costs of painting and carpeting by atleast double. The county appointed lawyer is a vegtable. The judges just rubber stamp everything. I knew there would be skimming and the executor making money on the side but this is ridiculous. What can a person do?

And when you participated in whatever scam is going on weren't you the least bit leary at what you were doing and weren't you suppose to GET something instead of GIVE something?

A person can hire an Atty to protect their interests IF their interests are worth the price of an Atty!

pojo want to go quail hunting?

How did I participate in a scam. The county appointed executor said if I didn't give her $5,000 my Mother's house could go into forclosure. I was trying to keep the mortgage current. How was I committing a scam?

I thought you said the house was sold? How could it go into foreclosure if it was already sold? Why did you write her a check? I thought you said the money was to fix the house after it was sold, now the money was to catch up the payments on the already sold house??? dang, is it just me??

You must be a probat lawyer

It is starting to be obvious that probate is a lawyer welfare program. I will type slow. When the county appointed executor took over the estate she asked me for $5,000 to prevent the house from going into forclosure. She sold the house 5 months later. If I did not pay the money; according to her, the house would be sold at auction. I was acting in good faith being a lawyer that must seem foriegn to you.
