What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois
I work for an employer that announced that their office would be closed for the day after Thanksgiving. They also announced that unless an employee requested vacation pay for that day, they wouldn't be paid. I didn't earn any vacation time up to that holiday so they deducted one day's pay from my paycheck. If I am an exempt salaried employee, can they force me to take the hit, even though I was forced to take the day off? They also plan on closing the office on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Can they do it to me again and again?
