my husband and i have filed a ch7 pro se. we have gotten the paperwork together to amend schedule b and c to exempt our federal tax refund. on schedule b, i put it under line 17 and gave the particulars on it but under schedule c i can not find a code where i can exempt it. can i use the code that says we can exempt cash. exemption code 15-41-30(5).between my husband and i we can claim $2000.00 as exempt in cash since we do not have a homestead. is there any code under the federal exemptions that we can use. any help would be appreciated. our tax refund should be around 1605.00 this year. how long do we have to wait to file the federal taxes after we amend the paperwork. can we file the taxes and get the refund and just put it away till we know if we have to give it to the trustee or not. thanks for all your help.
