What is the name of your state? south carolina

we have filed a ch7 bankruptcy and we are wanting to claim our estimated federal taxes for 2004 as exempt property. when filing a joint petition is our allowance doubled and what exemption law is that under and what is the amount that is actually exempt. we have filed pro se and are needing help finding out this info. for south carolina we can have $1000.00 cash exempted - can we include the taxes under that and is the 1000.00 doubled since it is a joint petition. thanks for your help
