What is the name of your state? Washington

I work as an Accountant and have always been classified as exempt. I can work 100 hours a week and my salary never changes. I recently accepted a new job and again am classified as salary exampt. I work with another person who has the same job as me, same title, etc., but is hourly and is paid overtime for all hours over 40 during a week.

Is this a normal and acceptable practice in Washington? Thanks.
