What is the amount that is exemption on personal realstate property that I own and occupy if I file bankruptcy? How is the value of the property calculated and by whom? I am married so is that value going to be half since my spouse and I owns the property? What if only one name if recorded for the property? If I have a lot of equity in the property; can I liquidate it before I file?
