What is the name of your state?
OH
A general docket civil case, involves equitable distribution, but assets had been liquidated by def.
Order states:

1. Def. Preliminary Obj. to Plain. Complaint overruled.
2. Def. is to answer in 30 days.
3. Matter to thereafter go to Family Divsion.

I'm guessing line 1 is good for plaintiff, but line 3 is bad if punitive damages were being sought. Can family division award punitive damages?
Another thing,
One of def.'s objections was that it should be in family, not civil.
If the objects. were overruled, why does it go to family?

Sorry, more questions.
Since the preliminary objections were overruled, can they be brought up again at a hearing or in the "response" the def. must file in 30 days?
What is the "response" for? What would it contain that the preliminary objections didn't?
Are we on to the trial or settlement offer stage yet? Or are their more back and forth procedures before a court date is now ordered?

Thank you to anyone who can answer any of thee. My attorney is out of town till next week and I'm anxious to know.
