What is the name of your state?Alabama I have a misdemeanor conviction and a felony case. I am on pretrial diversion for the felony, which I was told would not appear on a criminal record. I was also told by the judge of the misdemeanor that since it was my first offense, this would not show on my criminal record. I recently found out that both are showing when a criminal search in Alabama is processed. How can I have these charges expunged from my record?

Look in the Code of Alabama index under records, criminal records, expungement or whatever else you can think of. If you have trouble ask a librarian. It should be available in the public library. It should tell you what qualifies for expungement as well as the procedure.
