i have seen that you have given many people nice friendly advice. i don't understand why you chose me to pick on. i was just asking if anyone out there knew if there was any other way to clear up his record. a simple no would have sufficed. and please don't judge someone you do not know. i could understand you bad mouthing my husband if you had met him and deemed him to be "bad". yes he was convicted of a crime but c'mon he was 17 and his girlfriend was 15, they had cosentual sex. he is now 31 and still paying for having consentual sex with his girlfriend. i do appreciate your answer just not your attitude.

If a simple "no would suffice" as you claim, then why did you follow up my "No" response with your attitude of:
"i already knew it could not be expunged so your reply was not much help. my question was is there anything else we can do. also I don't think that you needed to be rude. this is a place to get advice not to be kicked in the face."

If YOU hadn't responded with YOUR attitude and had just said, "Thank you", this thread would have ended..... and wouldn't have lead up to YOU saying, "people make mistakes, if you haven't then you are full of ****."

Is the OP really this stupid? Is anyone?

If he was 17 at the time of the crime, why wasn't he charged as a juvenile? If it was that serious that he was charged as an adult, then he doesn't deserve to be freed of the burdon of conviction.

You see , when someone perps on a 15 year old, society deems them unfit for many things. He boinked a 15 year old, he'll pay for it for life. End of story.

Also to the OP: Do not let some of these obvious losers rent any space in your head. Everyone should treat others with respect in life, I guess some people just have to keep coming back before they learn this important lesson.

I'm sorry I can't help you with your question, and I personally don't think your husband did anything wrong, a 17 year old can certainly give consent, its just one of those cases to prove a point. Hope it all works out for you.........

a 17 year old can certainly give consent
Oh really? And which state statute did you find this in? Please enlighten us poor ignorant people.

oh please.

I'll be waiting here holding my breath until you come back and tell us all how a 17 year-old can give 'informed consent' under the law.

That is what we're talking about isn't it? THE LAW???

OK, my mistake, she was 15. So, when did you become a non virgin? 14, 15, 30??? lol

The reason I posted was because I don't feel that people coming to this websight for advice should be verbally ABUSED by namecalling, do YOU understand that?? Why should this woman be called a ... for something her husband did years ago? Can you answer me this question??

In reference to the OP, obviously the parents of the 15 year old girl got involved. Don't you believe that a 15 and 17 year old can have consentual sex?? Where have you been?

Sorry, but a rape is a rape and 2 teenagers that want to have sex is another thing. In my state, I believe the age of consent is 16, I might be mistaken. But if I was the parent and my young one had a relationship like this, I certainly wouldn't try to charge the person with sexual misconduct, it takes 2 and at 15 I think you should be well aware about the birds and the bees. Were you having sex at 15? Well if you were, do you think this should ruin a mans record for the rest of his life? You know these teenagers and their hormones and curiosity!!!

Name calling is what made me post, and to have empathy for the poster, get it?

As I said, show me the statute. statutory rape is on the books of EVERY state for a reason, that reason being, until a child reaches the age of consent, NO LEGAL consent can be given.

My only issue with your post was the fact that you fail to realize this is not about the birds and the bees, not about the age of the poster's hubby or anything except the 'child' aged 15 and the statutes of Texas defining sexual contact with that child as a crime.

The statute makes no distinction for the age of the perpetrator and does not include a passage that stipulates that 'if they are bumping uglies for the birds and the bees it's o.k.'.

It's a crime, should be treated as a crime and will be treated as a crime until the statute is changed.

Whatever other comments came to this poster came as a result of her failing to understand this simple concept. And although I have no dog in that fight, I can understand why they were made.

oh really?

Give me a break HEX. I have had it out with you before the way you treat people. You understand why this person was verbally abused? Guess you think that it is OK to act in this manner, what are you an abuser too??

How would you feel if you walked in this persons shoes? Would you like it if your wife or daughter was treated in this manner all for coming to a FREE websight for advice?

This websight is supposed to be for legal advice where nice knowledgeable people share their knowhow. This is not the advice usually given. It is mostly sarcastic bxxxxxxt and doesn't help at all. It just angers people that may be in tough situations.

Sorry, I've read your replies, I personally don't think your a nice person, and I could care less what your opinion is. Your always calling people names and ASSUMING.

At least I have a nice family lawyer........see ya

Who gives a rat's ass what you think. This poster was given the LEGAL answer and might I say in a very nice way. She chose not only to ignore it but to change her story and attack the person who gave her the facts, not a pat on the head.

If SHE wants to act in such a manner then she deserves what she gets. And just because both you and her have failed to grasp the legal implications of the issue doesn't mean we have to spoonfeed you.

This act is illegal. PERIOD! Case Closed!

You two have a personality disorder,

its called a narsissistic personality disorder. OK, you may be right about the law in some states, have you ever heard of extenuating circumstances? oops, hope I didn't spell that incorrectly....please tell me what word I spelled wrong, went over my post quick, really didn't spot it........... You have never walked in this persons shoes, you have no idea of this particular situation, exactly what happened, you know that 15 year olds give consent all the time to have sex, doesn't make it right, but it is human nature. Did your parents make sure you were of consenting age before you had sex?

Like I said the only reason I posted is because you called this woman a ..., you assumed she lived in a trailer, and I want to know WHY you think its OK to verbally abuse a poster when they have done nothing to you and was innocently here to try to get some answers. Why do most threads on this websight take a nose dive to abuse and namecalling? So, what is you ANSWER? Is it OK to call people derogatory names or WHAT?

These are the questions I want to know. Do you really believe that it is OK to call people stupid ? It seems that is all averyone has to say here sometimes. (you all know who you are)Trust me, I think its a joke, but you see, there is a big difference between you and I. I am an empathetic, compassionate person, you are not.

No further comment LOL
