exroomie owes me money

arkansas--- i loaned this person i thought was my friend 264 dollars to help her pay for her share of our rent and her pohone bill and the utilities. we didnt have any formal legal agreement, she just gave me her word that she would pay me back... well now she is saying she isn't going to pay me back at all, and i have emails of her telling me awhile back that she WOULD pay me back. can i make her pay?????????

Does she deny borrowing the money or does she just say she is not paying it back? If she admits the debt it should be very easy to get your money back. And if she denies ever borrowing it, the emails would prove her to be a liar. I would file a small claims case and see how it goes. I don't see how you could lose.
