What is the name of your state? california.

i bought a used suv,a jeep grand cherokee from broadway volkswagon a dealership of used cars in oakland,ca on 3/02 at the time of purchase an extended warranty was included in the price of the auto. the cost of the warranty was $1500. the vehicle had just over 48K on the odometer and has just over 60.8k currently. i have had extensive repair work done on the vehicle and spent several thousand dollars. the vehicle completely stopped last week while i was driving it. i had it towed to the repair shop/jeep/chrysler dealership who has performed all of the work in the past. upon examining the vehicle i was advised that the engine was "busted". i contacted the extended warranty people at, Warentech and they so far refused to pay for repairs.

And what reason did they give after you completed all the documents, etc. required for the warranty claim and submitted them???

I AM ALWAYS LIABLE

My response:

The warranty company probably got tired of paying for a Chrysler piece of crap. Chrysler couldn't build a drivetrain to save their lives. They're the only company I know who can buy a set of tried-and-true blueprints from another company, and wind up screwing things up.

In short, even if someone offered to give me a brand new Chrysler product, I wouldn't take it UNLESS they paid me!

I agree with the one who is always liable. Your first mistake was buying a Jeep. I had one too.....and never ever again. You will spend more time fixing it than driving it. :(

warentech, the extended warranty comapny, requested maintenance records for the jeep which i faxed to them immediately. apparantly they reviewed them and determined that they were enough and that they would not repair the auto if that was all the records i had. i fax over all of the records that i had since there were so many i did not think that they needed all of them which is quite a large amount and i still have more. at that point the adjuster who is handling my claim advised me tht he would review the materials with his super and would get back with me and that is all i've heard since.

Okay, so your 'shorted' them on the required maintenance records and they rejected your claim. You then provided additional records to a supervisor and haven't heard since.

What did they say when you contacted them in WRITING asking for an update on your claim?

the warrentech, of Bedford,TX, did contact the repair shop and advised them that they would not pay for repairs. i have since had the car towed to another repair shop where they will repair the vehicle for considerablly less than the dealer was charging. i am also preparing to take my case to small claims court to seek damages for breach of contract.

i've heard tons of extended warranty services, in the end you usually have to fight with blood and tears for it.

and yeah, DC (damien chrysler) has reliability issues, but they're pretty much fixed in 98 (ZJ model) and 00+ (WJ models).

Plus they're fast as heck. 98 had a 5.9 engine in the little 3700 pound box. can you say fast?
