In April of 2001 my residence was broken into by Utah police with a warrant to search for narcotics (the warrant was issued due to a signed affidavit from a narc). Upon searching they found a small amount of substances but nothing major. I was not present at the time. When I arrived home they were gone and there was nothing but a note from my landlord saying I had to be out in 3 days. I then proceeded to move to some relatives for several months. During this time, I had all my mail forwarded to a new address and received nothing from the city as to whether they were filing charges or not. Later I moved to AZ and was picked up for a traffic violation. They ran my id, found a warrant (which I was never contacted about) from Utah and I was hauled down to jail while they contacted Utah for extradition. After several hours in jail, Utah decided NOT to extradite. I have sense moved to CA. My question is 2 things: What is the likelihood of Utah extraditing me here if I were to be pulled over again? Also, could the people I am living with possibly be charged with "harboring a criminal" if for some strange reason Utah PD decided to come out here for me?
I have been told the warrant is a state warrant only and consists of three 2nd degree felony possess/use/offer/arrange charges and two misdemeanor possession charges.
Thanks!
