What is the name of your state?

Hi,
I intend to apply for change of status from F-1 OPT to H-1 B visa in march 2005 in the 20k F-1 student quota. However my passport is due to expire on August 28th 2005. Is it a requirement that the passport has to be valid for atleast 6 months when i am applying for a change of status? Also my OPt is due to expire on June 13th 2005.
