What is the name of your state? Georgia

Dear,
I researched about visa F1 before I posted this topic. However, I couldn't find the answer I need.

My problem is: I am studying full time in US, my visa expired 2002, during that time I asked my admission to help where I would extend my visa. They said they would take care it. That is ok. And right now, it is 2004, my visa was not renew yet. I am planning to go back to my country during this winter break. In my schelure, I will leave soon in two weeks. Do I allow to get out and come back after holiday for my study. Do I need to renew it before go, and if it is yes, where can I renew it. If not, what do I do.

First year, when I got to here, at Los Angeles in my I_94, it is stamped " Class until F1" I am not sure what does it mean?!??

My admmision can give for my the new I 20.

Please, reply me!!!! I need the answer soon as soon you could. Thank you so much!!!

Well, I don't know much about it, but I'm pretty sure that you have to renew your Visa before you can comeback in the US.

Ok, here's a quick summary:

You need VISA to "enter" the United States.

You need a VALID AND ENDORSED (i.e., signed by your international students affairs office or whatever you have) I-20 to GET the VISA.

Your school has nothing to do with your VISA. They can only issue you an I-20. Once they do that, their job's done.

VISA is the business of the american embassy in your home country.

Before going back to your country, make sure your I-20 is valid for at least a few months AFTER your scheduled arrival date in the US (i.e., the date your return to the US after the vacations). Upon reaching your country, immediately apply for a new F-1 VISA. After 9/11 security clearances are taking longer so your return might be delayed because of the visa issuance. Until you have a VALID visa for the US you won't be able to board plane from your country to the US.

Hope that makes things a bit clear.
