What is the name of your state? NY
Quickie, getting ready to start preparing FAFSA forms for my son. I have sole custody of him. His father and I are legally married. He wont agree to a divorce or seperation and we have not lived together for over 5 years. He will not provide any tax forms or pay stubs. Not even sure of his employment. How can I complete this paperwork without his information? Can I just say there is no dad?

You can't say that there is no dad.

How are you going to answer the question that asks about your marital status?

Lying on the FAFSA is a federal offense.

I can't answer your question on how do you get his information.

call the financial aid office of your son's college and speak with a supervisor, not one of the college kids......they have a lot of experience with FAFSA issues and may have some suggestions or at least can point you into the right direction.....

recently went through the FAFSA red tape myself, so i feel for ya! good luck!

I called FAFSA last night and I explained my situation and they told me to mark the seperated box, and I wont need to provide any information for my husband.
