It's me again. I've had a really bad couple of months. Read my other post to get the other half of the story.
This one involves the reason I'm homeless in the first place. We sold our mobile home, in hopes to purchase a real house. Our Loan broker preapproved us to buy a home within our price range. Considering a past foreclosure on our credit report ( the reason we were in a mobile home in the first place ) we were skeptical that the deal would go through ( how right we ended up being ). Long story short, before we put in the bid, we asked our LB if we were still good to go, he said yes. Sold our Mobile home, and a week before closing our financing fell completely through. No home, no loan, what to do. We rented from the sellers under contract to see if we could find different financing. We couldn't. We had to move out. Here's the problem. The home we tried to buy was close to foreclosure. They want to keep half of our earnest money. Fine by me. However, we gave them a damage deposit that was to be returned to us at closing. They cashed the check before we moved out. The contract states that they have to give us 21 day notice in writing that they are going to keep any part of it. We haven't signed the cancellation of purchase agreement yet. Where do we stand? Again, this is in Minnesota.
