I received a ticket for failing to drive in a single lane after an accident. I hydroplaned while going 10 miles under the speed limit, and slightly moved into middle lane from the far left (horribly rainy and cold conditions). I was hit by a vehicle in that lane and knocked into a ditch in the median of the road. I have a newspaper article that cites 96 accidents on that block last year and 10 in less than two weeks due to hydroplaning vehicles. Should I contest this ticket, and if I have already chosen to plead not quilty, can I change my plea before the trial?
