my ex-husband recently informed me that he hasn't file his income taxes for several years because "they (county probation) take it all." He is in child support arrears for more than $5000.00. Is there ANYTHING I can do? Also, he is presently working off the books (he told me). He can't be arrested until he misses three weeks of payments, so he is missing two weeks, then he sends a check, waits two more weeks, then sends a check, etc. He apparently knows how to work the system. HELP!!! My bio info is that I'm a single parent of three teenagers, the oldest one is looking forward to college next year, but because of my financial situation, he will either have to work to put himself through college or get a lot of financial aid and/or scholarships. An enforcement of income tax filing would help get some of the money he will need for college. We live in New Jersey.

You can try calling the IRS Criminal Fraud Div and see if they will put a bug up his butt to file.

I have an ex that owes 15,000.00 and he has stopped filing IRS returns also.

You might also want to see about filing criminal non support charges through the local District Atty's office. If you know who his employer is you can also have a wage garnishment sent to the employer from the court that ordered the support.
