What is the name of your state? Va
I had this problem with Equifax and a credit union NOT updating my report correctly. I was told on this forum to write a letter to the creditor to fix the problem. She received this letter and phoned me, giving me a speech on how they lost money over me, blah blah blah. I told her to send me a letter confirming that she would contact Equifax and fix the problem. Well that was over a month ago. No letter. Checked my credit report again....never fixed, even with the 3RD investigation by Equifax. I cannot record a phone conversation with her, due to legalities. I want restitution and for Equifax and the credit union to pay. This has been going on for TWO YEARS!!!! Where is the justice??? HELP! Thank you.

I was about to respond by posting some links to creditboards and see you've posted already. The lawsuits are a flying from that site on the issue. In fact, scroll down the board and "JoeDirtsomething" just sued CCB and won an out of court settlement. It was posred early this A.M.
This creditor is likely fixing to lose a little more money!

Update..

I went to the creditor personally and confronted the VP of lending. He found that I had plenty of documentation supporting my case. He then had someone "correct" the entry so it would be IIB(which should of been done anyway). Later that week I received a letter from the VP apologizing for the error and assured me that it would be corrected. Well, I checked my report 2 days ago and guess what...STILL wrong. They did zero out the past due, but still left the $4000 balance. They also added in the comments section: "Filed claim against Guarantor". Isn't that nice? And, of course, left the Charge-off on. I now have a signed letter by the VP of Lending from the creditor saying they were wrong. Now do I have a case?
