Fallen Trees

What is the name of your state? Frederick, Maryland

I Don't know when the 3 trees fell exactly, however, when we discovered it there were 3 trees fallen onto our property, and chain-saw marks at the property line (from the previous tree-owner). All roots and bases of trees are missing. We don't "know" these neighbors, although "she" is a lawyer and married to a "house-husband"....who keeps their property immaculate! My question is...Who is responsible for removal expenses of "our newly acquired lumber" and what's the best way to "make contact" about this issue? She could run-up our lawyer expenses extremely quickly (since there's no charge for "her" advice)...and we don't know their names.

They've previously "dumped" brush onto our "Environmentally protected property" and when we discovered it, my husband promptly "displayed" the appropriate signage...and then "the sign" disappeared. A couple months later my husband approached the "house-husband" and slightly discussed the matter. I am told....it was taken care of, and he cleaned out his "debris".

These particular 3 new trees did not fall into the "Environmentally Protected Area". I didn't know what would be the appropriate (courteous) fashion to attempt to deal with this "issue". Please advise...HELP!

We do have a fence, but one of the trees broke thru the first "rail" of the fence. I forgot that part....it's only a discretionary $14 (per rail) incindent. I'm really not concerned with $14. (the most simple part).

Were these trees intentionally cut to fall on your property or fell by an act of God and the other property owner removed the portion on their side. Do you have a fireplace?

Not intentially cut, and I do know these 3 trees Fell after a "storm" however, I'm not exactly sure if it was "the Hurricane Isabel" or not. At this point (1.5 years later than Isabel)...it could have been "any storm". What's the legal imitations? W have a fireplace, however...it's "propane".

I take it this is vacation property since it is some time since the fallen trees? You could just let them rot in place an environmentally sound solution. Or get some foil, bananas, Graham Crackers, chocolate, marshmellows, charcoal starter fluid, and have a bonfire and make smores and banana boats :D Don't invite the neighbors. When it gets late ding campfire songs, load and off key :D

No, this is our "home". It's located on the back of the property (approx. 4 acres) and I have a small child, so...my life has been "in the home" for the past couple years...although, it has been within 1.5 years...I'm certain of that. Depending on insurance coverages....it could be disputed.......of exact dates.

I STILL need a "real" answer or suggestion of the best way to approach this matter....please!...please!
