What is the name of your state?Florida

I had a parent-teacher conference at my daughter's school regarding a complaint I had with the teacher. The teacher took it as a personal attack and the conference quickly turned into an argument, at which time the teacher falsely stated that my daughter said that I abuse my daughter, that I throw, kick, and punch her.

Nothing was ever mentioned about abuse until that point, and the teacher never reported it to child protective services, the guidance counselor, or any administration at the school. However, the school and the school board are defending and protecting the teacher and mine and my daughter's reputations have been ruined.

What are our rights and what can we do?

It's a criminal act.

Fla. Stat., Title V.:
39.205(6) A person who knowingly and willfully makes a false report of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect, or who advises another to make a false report, is guilty of a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. Anyone making a report who is acting in good faith is immune from any liability under this subsection.
Report it to the police and let them handle it. You have no valid grounds for a civil suit (for a variety of reasons).
