I found an ad for expensive car speakers stating a price of $0.00. So of course, I ordered 100 of them. I received an online confirmation of my order with my credit card number and information on it. I printed copies of the advertisement, and the confirmation, but I haven't received the product, and all attempts to contact them have been ignored. What can I do about this?

My response:

Absolutely nothing. In order to create a valid contract, one of the pre-requisites is that there must be valid, and lawful, consideration passing from one person to the other; e.g., money passing from you to them, and speakers passing from them to you.

Since no valid consideration (albeit, no consideration at all) has passed between the parties, there is no contract and you have no cause of action.

Additionally, it would appear that there was also a unilateral "mistake" e.g., a misprint in the ad. It makes no sense, in the law, that someone would spend time and money for an ad, only to give away goods for no money. Again, no cause of action based upon "mistake".
