A competitor in New York is making false claims on their website with respect to their product.
They claim their product to be "#1 in major [comparison] tests 2005-2006". In fact it was #1 in one particular test in mid-2006 (and actually one of the worst in another arguably more important test more recently).
In addition to this, this claim is made on their website next to a picture of a new product of theirs, clearly implying that it is this new product which was tested, when it was not. The text surrounding the photo is in the form of "Introducing the new <product name here>... #1 in major USA tests 2005-2006".
Their material does not mention our product specifically.
Can we do anything to force them to be truthful with their claims?
Apart from legal action, is there any government agency or other organization, to do with consumer affairs perhaps, that would help?
