What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

I just received the divorce papers from my wifes lawyer. On the child support section, it states that I have an annual income of $35000, when in fact I am a student and unemployed. Shes asking for $660.00 a month for child support. Isn't it illegal to put false information on a divorce decree? How can I get her to change the information? Doesn't the court set the amount that a parent pays for child support by their income? The lawyer says that I have 14 days to respond or the papers are filed as is. I appreciate any help. :(

Thanks,

Paul

I suggest you respond.

35,000 is probably what they would impune you anyway.

That's likely what you've been imputed.

Even if you have no income, your child still needs to eat - it's very common to impute you a wage of at least 40 hours @ min. wage.

Have you held jobs that you have earned $35,000.00 per year,or could earn $35,000.00 a year with your skills . If so , it's possible that amount could be inputed .If not ,then respond and dispute the amount according to your State's child support calculator.
