my daughter incurred an emergency room bill a year ago...she was nineteen and not living with us...when the hospital tried to bill us i called them 3 times informing them we were not responsible for her debt...now we have been served notice of a small claims action by a credit association suing us for this bill...what actions can we take to make them drop this action?

There's nothing you can do to drop it. However, if what you are saying is correct, you will, needless to say, win.

What you need to do is show up at the place and time mentioned on the summons. Bring with you a copy of her birth certificate (official), and simply give show the birth certificate to the judge. Tell the judge what you just told us.
