What is the name of your state? Pittsburgh
I have a defiant 12 yr old daughter, she ran away from home because I did not allow her to go to the swimming pool. I looked for her and found her at the swimming pool with two of her friends. They all spotted me and when I went into the shower/locker room to get to the pool area, she was gone. I questioned her friends and they lied about my daughter's whereabouts. Well practically the whole day I've been looking for her and she and her friends would see me and take off running. I notified the police and he searched for her as well. later on, I seen them running towards one of the friends homes and immediately let the police know. The grandmother of one of the friends, hid my daughter in her home and lied to the police and said she did not know where my daughter was. later on I found my daughter, her two friends and the grandmother at a festival held at the neighborhood church. I walked behind my daughter and grabbed her by both arms. She did not put up a fight and I led her home. I called the police and when he arrived, he asked to speak with my daughter in private. He then asked to speak with me and told me that basically my daughter seems like a really good kid but just hates to follow my rules. He also told me that the two friends and grandmother apparently went to the police statiopn just before I called, and alledged that I dragged my daughter out of the festival and that I was abusing my daughter that's why she ran away. The grandmotherlied about my daughter arriving at her house with a bloody nose and shirt. How stupid of her because my daughter had been in and out of the pool for nearly 4 hours and running and hiding from me. He also told me that my daughter told him that I abuse her. What I don't understand is how come the officer did not question the grandmother any further and take into account that she was with my daughter at the festival. if a child tells you they're abused, you take them to the festival to hang out with her, her granddaughter and the other friend? Also the police told me he knows the family and now I cannot help to think that he was being a little biased. The officer said although he does not for one minute believe my daughter is being abused because she shows absolutely no signs of abuse but that he still has to report me and i completely understand. I am a teacher and I had to one day report abuse of one of my students however, the grandmother lied, isn't that considered slander and also, she lied to the police about my daughter being in her home, isn't that aiding and abetting?

The grandmother was merely repeating what she was told by your daughter to the police during the course of an investigation. No slander, unless you want to sue your daughter.

Aiding and abetting are terms used for individuals harboring and/or helping a criminal during the commission of a crime. Other than being a pain in the butt, what crime do you contend that your daughter committed?

No no no, my daughter did not tell the grandmother about having a bloody nose. The grandmother made that up and told her granddaughter to tell the police that my daughter arrived at their house with a bloody nose and shirt. That is a pure lie. My daughter was with the granddaughter at the swimming pool and park for nearly 4 hours. They (friends & grandmother coerced my daughter to lie about being abused so she wouldn't get into trouble for running away and the grandmother wouldn't get into trouble for hiding my daughter out in her home) Lying to the police about a bloody nose and abuse, isn't that slander? Why didn't the police ask for the evidence of the bloody shirt? I think because he knows the family, he's covering for them? Yes my daughter is more than just a pain in the butt, however, I'm being reported to Child, Youth & Family services because of the lie the grandmother AND my daughter told. Couldn't the grandmother, the two friends AND my daughter be held liable for "Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress"? I am completely distraught over this especially because it isn't true AND could also face having my job as a teacher ruined because I will now be a suspect of child abuse.

And you know this how?

well for starters when the police officer asked my daughter about the bloody shirt, she said she did not know anything about a bloody nose and shirt. This is what the officer told me. My daughter told me the grandmother told her, her granddaughter and the other friend to say my daughter arrived at their house with a bloody nose and shirt so that she would not get into trouble for lying to the police about my daughter being in her home.
