What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? texas

My father hacked into my email, and changed my password, and read emails that were strictly between my grandmother and I. I have proof, because he felt the need to forward all of the emails to my mother.

I'm just curious as to if that is illegal or if he could get in trouble for that.

I am also Nineteen years old, going on Twenty in March.

Yes, it is illegal in Texas to gain unauthorized entry to a computer system and to make unauthorized copies of data (in any form printed or electric) of that computer system, it is also illegal to alter that system in any way (your password access). However, I'm not sure how proactive they are in Texas when it comes to enforcing these laws.....you'd have to contact the appropriate law enforcement agency.

A lot will also be dependent on HOW he got access to your account.....since leaving a system unprotected is implicit consent to access.....did he already have your password?

I'm pretty sure this isn't a "Family Law" issue.
