Since my wife got a nasty relpy to her post here is mine....

In March 08 I found out I had a 2yr old daughter. ( I filed for paternity through the TX AG) since March I have recieved Temp Orders for overnight weekends on 2nd, 4th & 5th weekends and weekends extended by a holiday. My last three court order visits the mother has cancelled saying my daughter is sick. I can understand children being sick because I have step children, but I think this has gotten alittle out of control that in the last 5 weeks she has been sick this much with diffrent allments. This last visit was the Thanksgiving weekend she denied saying the child had an upper respitory infection and then the ER doctor wrote a note saying she was to stay home and rest however she toke my daughter to another family gathering while she was sick and under doctor orders to stay home to rest and was contagious. My question is can she keep cancelling visits because my daughter is sick or if my daughter is sick can she come with us for a court order visit to allow me time to bond with her and take care of her while she is sick? If she can do this what is a reasonable time to make up the visit? I have asked numerous times and followed each request with an email and she is not letting me have make up time. I am not one of those dead beat dads I pay my court ordered child support on time and I enjoy every moment I have with my daughter and my step children are missing their step sister. The time I have is very important to me because I want her to get to know me, my wife, my step children and the rest of the family. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Your wife was answered. Seriously. You have a court order. Not a court suggestion. Take mom back to court to show cause why she should not be found in contempt. Of course you had to actually attempt to pick up your child at the court ordered time and place and been refused at that moment and NOT taken no for an answer over the phone.
