My husband adopted son & ex-dad willing to give up all rights. He waived his right to appear in court. Judge did not want the arrearage dropped. So he signed off on court order but crossed out the part to waive the arrearage because he said the child can come back and sue the court and all involved for the support. It is rightfully the childs and the ex still owes alot... Now the Attorney General is taking it out of his employment check until paid. The EX wants me to write a letter saying that he has already paid the arrearage to me personally and if I don't he said he will take me to court for his rights back. He has only visited my son a total of 6 times his whole life and my husband and I raised him. He is now 6. The EX calls our home all the time and threatens us. What should I do?

If the adoption went through and done correctly, there is NOTHING that this bio Father can do. He will have to pay the arrearages and thats all. He cannot try and reverse the adoption without the adoptive Father willing allowing it. My suggestion...

Move, change your phone number and drop all ties with this man. He sounds very unhealthy. You and your family do not owe him ANYTHING!

Good luck!

Or get a restraining order against the animal and report him any time he contacts you.
