My ex has not seen our daughters in two (2) years. However he pays support (only thru demand of garnishment). I am going to be married in 1/02 and my husband intends to adopt. The ex has recently requested a modification in support & medical support only & it was determined that he actaully has to pay more! The hearing for this is in a few weeks & my financial records have been requested as well as my presence. He claims to have a "disassocitation" to the children, what can I do at this hearing if he requests to start seeing them (I'm sure only to lower the amount he has to pay)? He was supposed to see them 20% of the time...yet didn't even see them 20% of the time prior to him dropping out of the picture 2 years ago. Can I request that since the hearing is for modification of support/medical only that it be set for discussion at another time? Or will I have to discuss it that day? I would like to have an attorney to defend the children's visitation. Thanks.
