Fathers right to access school records

What is the name of your state? Hawaii My son's ex moved their child to Iowa, with his permission. My son has his childs teachers e-mail address. Does my son have the right to e-mail the teacher to find out how his son is progressing, and if he is attending school regularly? My grandson is in kindergarten.

uh.. Yeah... not only does he have the right he has the obligation to do so as a parent. (of course this is true unless there is anything barring him from contact through the courts)

Dad, should talk with the principal and the teacher to let them know he is involved and interested in his childs education. I would request from the teacher a time I could call every week on Friday night or whenever the teacher says will work. Dad will know how his son did during the week and what to look forward to the next week. Also, I make sure the school sends my Ex a copy of report cards.

With broadband telephone and free phone calls there is no reason dad cannot call every night and tell his son goodnight and that he loves him. I make sure my kids call their mother everynight. With the internet and free long distance calling there is no reason to not stay in touch and be as active a parent as possible even with the distance that is between them.
