What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WA

from cell phones lasting 2 years maximum
to cell phone providers having major coverage gaps in my area
to pretty much half of the products I buy are not working as advertised
I'm getting pretty tired of calling customer support only to be told sorry sir we will avoid you from now on and transfer you 10 times so maybe you give up and hang up the phone already...

less than year old hard drives failing and i lost all my backups of family photos etc
3 Seagate hard drives to be exact. none of the western digital drives
laptops other tvs
a lot of smaller accessories are also far from what they advertise.
its just so many that one cant possibly have time to follow through with each problem i would be spending all my time trying to get somewhere with these damn companies.

currently I have the following:
second modem is defective (one broke after only 6 months) I spent 6 months troubleshooting and learned more than Comcast tech support knows I had to explain to them few times what they need to do on their end
I should not have to do that I just want internet connection
the 4k tv that I have is also glitch
and neither LG or Netflix will own up to the issue.. I had them both on the phone and asked them same question they both pointed finger at eachother and hung up... both claiming firmware errors on the other side.
I buy cellphones every 2 years carefully using them with a screen and case. yet they all( about 6 of them so far) consistently degrade performance at about a year and a half dead on.
the signal starts getting crappy, the wifi starts having issues. it starts freezing even after reset..

I'm pretty familiar with electronics in general, computers audio equipment cellphones etc its my hobby.

I'm just really tired of spending money of crappy products that do not do what they promised.
and I feel like theres nothing I can do to even be heard by the company who makes these products. they just don't care because people continue buying crap and instead of demanding quality they just buy new crap

I'm well aware of the built in design failures that are there on purpose so people buy new products every 2-4 years but I think its getting ridiculous and also not very environment friendly.

i had a Motorola modem that worked flawlessly for over 10 years before i bought the new modem.

damn anyway I'm pretty disappointed with quality of latest products as you can see( I'm sure I'm not the only one)

my question was what can i do. how does this work with electronics?
cars have a recall when its a safety issue

what about if its not a safety issue and just a really crappy product that keeps breaking. all i see on the electronics forum is people having same issue and company is just ignoring it for the most part. they wait usually 2 years and release "new and improved" model to replace the old and defective one... and usually people who bought the crappy model end up spending money again to buy another product hoping that it will be better than the first.

You seem to have more problems than the average electronics consumer. Sorry to hear of your luck. You are probably the only guy in the world I would suggest purchase the extended warranty on your electronic devices.

Once you're past the warranty period, you have no rights to gripe. Yes there are crappy electronics out there.

I know how you feel, it's damned difficult to get them to fix things that ARE under warranty. Don't even get me started about the *&#@4 DeLL / Seagate harddrive in the system I'm typing this on. It was known defective out of the box. Everybody who has one of these things complains about it. Can't get Dell to budge.
