What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

Thinking about pursuing a legal action for violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
Need to review prior successful litigation cases to determine best strategy and financial damages.

  • Can a successful FCRA and FDCPA legal action be managed by an individual (without legal representation)?
  • Are there boilerplate formats for legal complaints and letters to creditors and debt collectors?
There are more complex matters related to fraudulent credit card(s) and a major bank and credit bureaus. There are several less complex matters involving identity association related to unauthorized credit inquiries. Professional opinions and personal experience appreciated.

  • sometimes although if the defendant can successfully remove the case to a higher court than you can comfortably represent yourself, it becomes a problem.

Not that I am aware of. Your complaint would have to conform to the requirements of the court you file the action in.

It would be helpful to view at least one (maybe a few) successful FCRA and FDCPA consumer lawsuits.
Knowing what to expect is half of the decision-making.
