Hi! I just received a job offer for I company I would love to work for. The position was originally brought to my attention through a management recruiting firm. They sent me a "contract" stating that the company I would be working for is paying the fee($6,000!), but if I fail to show up on my designated start date, I, myself, would immediately have to pay for the fee. Can they "make" me pay? What would happen if I became ill, had a family emergency or just did not like the job after all?(The "contrat" says nothing regarding this...Please help me!(I am from California)
