I am 34 years old and have never even recieved a ticket. I have a clean record and have spent the past 4 years in the reserves doing very well. I however went to work in a retail store and after a few months stole several items and sold them. I have never done anything like this before and I had intended to return the money for the items and confessed to the owner. He was gracious enough to come over to my house and collect the items I had remaining. We talked for a while and he said we could work some sort of payment out. He was a friend and doing this really hurt him. I voluntarily went to see the detective the next day with him and now he is pressing charges. I voluntarily wrote a statement and now I am very afraid and not sure what can happen? Will this get me thrown out of the military? If I get probation can I still go to Iraq, I feel as though I need to do something honorable to make up for this. If I am convicted and sentenced to jail, can I get a job afterwards? Will this follow me on record for the rest of my life? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Ever notice that when thieves come on here trying to get out of what they have done, they always say I have a clean record, not even a speeding ticket. Smooth move exlax....you blew that one right into the toilet!
