What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? S.C.
I have lived here on my property since 2000 an a fence was already on the property line between my house and the neighbors. when their house was foreclosed on the buyer tried to take the fence down and I told him no he couldn't . He bought the house to resell it and the new neighbors just took the fence down without asking me I told them they would have to put it back up. Also I have maintained the fence when a tree fell on it I had to fix it because the old neighbor wouldn't am I right?

Hopefully, you have a survey that shows the fence directly on the line or on your side. Otherwise it was there's to do what they wanted with it.
