Two years ago I had a fence put up just after I bought my house. The guy that put up the fence did the job as a favor because he is a friend of my brother. The property markers were in the grass from the property survey and I thought the fence was within the property line. It turns out that after some research the fence is well out of bounds. Approx. 8-10 inches in some places. Do I have any legal rights as far as having him fix the problem? Or am I on my own because there was only an oral agreement and not a written one? I live in New Jersey. Thanks.
