What is the name of your state? NC

I am in the process of buying a home and the mortgage company asks me for a copy of my transcripts in order to put down my previous job as school. So, while I am in the process of getting this, it turns out that they knew someone at the University and called there and got a copy of my transcripts. The company did not have my consent and neither did the school, so should they be allowed to do this? Is this a legitimate complaint? Thanks for your help.

Q: The company did not have my consent and neither did the school, so should they be allowed to do this?

A: Read your paperwork. You signed a consent form.
