Hey there,
I'm pretty worried about this fiancee visa, I've already sent it off, But am a single mom & doubt seriously that I make enough money to sponser my future Hubby, however I do have plenty of people to co-sponser him. Is this going to affect our visa (I didn't see anything on the form about sponsership)
I'm also curious about the visa going through in time for the wedding date. If it doesn't go through by that time can we still marry and him fly back home(canada) until the visa goes through or is that breaking a law?
All these immigration laws are so confusing, it's probably easier just to go to Canada if it weren't so BRRR cold.

When the application is approved by USCIS, you will send the affadavit of support and other stuff to the fiance who will then take it to the embassy for the interview.

or is that breaking a law?
Yes.

Look at it this way---you have 6-8 months to increase your income situation. Yoiur affidavit of support will rely heavily on your income as of that moment. Get a 2nd job, or a better job than you have, or take on more hours.
Or, find a co sponsor.

Are you co sponsors willing to feed your husband, or how will you get by?

If he does not have a K-1 visa by the time of your planned wedding, you either give up the visa and start over or give up the wedding date. It is not a good idea to put down money or commitments for a wedding before you get the visa. Ex: there are significant fiance petition processing delays at this moment due to implementation of a new law (they have not created the new forms that the law requires). No one knows what this will do to the already arbitrary processing times.

PS: it's not easier to go to Canada. Plus you'd have the custody issues to deal with. Nothing worth having is easy, I guess!

Of course not, the fiance visa is for a fiance, not a spouse.
