I would still be trying to obtain the documents from the third party issuers. In the end it may be quicker.

Ok sorry I understand now you mean the parties who issued me my W2s, etc. Got it .
Should I contact the PR and/or her Legal Counsel directly about the money owed me?

You can do both. You can contact the third party issuers for the documents and address the PR and/or her legal counsel about the money owed to you and your documents as well. I just suspect, from experience, that you are going to have a hard time getting your documents back from the estate. Not because the PR wouldn't be willing to return them, but because the PR may have already shredded the documents, or may have them in storage without time/ability to go dig them out. It is my experience that if the PR hasn't contacted the clients and offered them their documents back within a couple of months at maximum, that the PR doesn't understand what the deceased was actually doing to earn a living and the importance of the documents.

Ok Thanks
Another Question. I have several emails from the accountant telling me he will "get my tax return done soon" and one email where I mention that he has cashed my check... but not sent me my return nor filed it.... and he responds to that email as well, saying he will be "getting it completed soon ".

Should I forward these email copies to the PR and/or her Legal Counsel with my request to substantiate my claim?

@LdiJ @Taxing Matters @Mark_A
Thanks

That would only be necessary if they respond to you in a manner that indicates that you will need to prove your claim to them. I probably wouldn't start out doing that.
