filing a answer to summoms for divorce

I am from South Carolina now living in Michigan. My hubby filed for divorce in SC. I am needing advice for filing answer to a divorce without an attorney when I disagree with part of what he filed. Such as marital assets being divided. They were not, but he told his attorney they were. I cannot afford an attorney and want to file the answer on my own. please help??

My response:

If you can't afford an attorney, and you sincerely think you can do this on your own from long distance, then your only real hope is to by a book on the subject of divorce from a bookstore in South Carolina. Nolo Press publishes some very fine "Do it Yourself" books, and they may be able to send you such a book directly. Find them on the Net.

Hurry up, because time is not on your side.
