filing contempt/modification of custody

What is the name of your state?virginia,,hi i posted earlier about filing contempt charges and modification for custody against my ex-wife who lives in Louisiana w/ our 3 kids (9,11&13),,,i forgot to ask my atty at the time how long goes it take to file for the modification and contempt charges for denying visitation for xmas 04'.......or should i say how long does it take for the drafts to been drawn up.......or does it just depend on what your asking for?
