I have a couple Questions. My boyfriend who has been seperated for 14 months needs to finish getting divorced. His wife and him signed a set of divorce papers back in May when she had another boyfriend and he wanted her divorced. She never filed the papers due to money issues. Him and I have now been together a few months and he wants it finished. Everyone's addresses have since changed since original divorce papers were signed. So we filled out new paperwork with my Boyfriend as the Plantiff as he now has the money to file. If we can get her to sign the paperwork again we will file. My question is what do we need to know about filing? When I called the court house they told us it was $227.50 to file, which we can do. They said we have to wait 60 days to get a court date that we have to put on the docet ourselves. I'm not sure I understand how to do that. Can anyone explain? Then once we have that court date the judge then signs the papers. My question is does the Wife who is defendant that already signed the papers have to go? What if she no shows?

Oh and not sure if this matters but they have no kids, no assets, and no loans or financial anything together. Filing as uncontested divorce with irriconsilable differences.

In all honesty? I think you should tell your b/f to take care of his divorce and then call you once it's done and signed.

I didn't ask for that opinion. And why should he sit around while her little tail is out screwing the world since before they seperated? It's about time he took his life back. He signed the divorce paperwork the first time assuming it would get filed, she just never came up with her half of the money to file. He's tired of waiting on her so he decided he will pay for the fees himself but since both of them have different addresses now new paperwork needed to done as well as him as planiff since he is the one that will file and pay the fees to the courts. The relationship has been long over. They have not lived together for 14 months. After the last text asking him for a threesome he's done, he wants to be completely away from her and does not want the marriage haning over his head. He's done. I will stand next to him if that is where he wants me to be or stand at the sidelines if that is where he wants me to be. He's a good man, she lost out. Her loss is my gain.

Actually, by signing up here, you DID ask for that opinion.

Most of the seniors here do not help third parties - it's a waste of time for a lot of reasons and can lead to bad advice because the third party rarely has all the facts.

If your BF wants to come here and ask his own questions, we'll be happy to help.

Oh, I will add one piece of unsolicited advice. He claims to have been separated from her for 14 months, yet she's asking him about a threesome? I REALLY suspect that reality varies somewhat from your view of it.

There must have been some marital assets, i.e., steel jawed bear traps, racoon cages, white lightning distillery, etc., etc.

Oh well. You got it anyway,

Frankly, it's none of your business. What IS your business is that you have a young child to whom you should be setting an example. You know... that one should have enough self-respect to not allow oneself to get involved in an adulterous situation. Because that is what you are involved in. Doesn't matter if they've been separated a month or a year - he is still married and you are still his "other woman". Klassy. Is that what you want your daughter to learn?
